Pray for McCain in debate Wednesday!

Let's lift up John McCain in our prayers this week!  Pray that God will give him wisdom on what to say and how to answer the questions.  Pray that he would connect with the heart of God and be plugged into Him, and be His mouthpiece!

Observations from the VP debate

Some thoughts from the Vice Presidential debate last Thursday...
It was interesting that the moderator didn't bring up the subject of abortion.  I wonder why.  I know that Joe Biden would probably have stumbled over that question if it was brought up.  Biden is a Catholic who in his personal belief is pro-life.  However, in his political stance, he is pro-choice.  It would have been interesting to see how Biden explain this discrepancy between his personal belief and political view.  Sarah would have grilled him on that, and the debate would have been over.

Secondly, Sarah was really confident, especially when it came to foreign policy, an area that she was supposedly weak in, and Biden was supposedly strong in.  Sarah clearly outshined Biden in the segment about foreign policy, especially about the issue of Iran and its renegade president.  Sarah even later asked the moderator, "Can we go back to talking to Afghanistan?"

Thirdly, Sarah connected with the audience a lot more than Biden did.  Sarah didn't put on a show.  She wasn't fake.  She was just being real, being herself.  After Sarah talked about "being around the kitchen table," Biden felt that he had to chime in and say that he has been there at the kitchen table too!  Biden was on the defense and desperately seeking to connect with ordinary Americans. 

Lastly, it was clear that Sarah won the debate, even with the fact that Biden lied 14 times during it!  Imagine if Biden didn't lie and was forced to state the truth, the debate would have been even more a one-sided victory for Sarah Palin.  The undecided voters that Fox News pooled together overwhelmingly thought that Palin was the better VP candidate.  Go Sarah!

Pray for McCain in debate tonight!

Tonight is the 2nd debate between McCain and Obama.  Pray that God would give McCain wisdom and knowledge in answering the questions and addressing the critical issues that are facing our nation today.  And pray for the anointing and favor of God to be upon McCain with the nation watching.

Pray for the viewers to have godly discernment and being able to distinguish between what is truth and what is false, what is good from from what is evil, and what is right from what is wrong.  I pray for wisdom and understanding in the American people, both now and from now until the election!  I pray that the American public would not be deceived or fooled by any distortion that the media is presenting and spewing out.

I pray for God-fearing, fair, and righteous coverage in the media, from CNN, to ABC, to CBS, to NBC, to MSNBC, to Fox News, and all the local TV stations covering politics and the presidential election.  I pray for righteous, LIFE, God-fearing leaders to be elected in America this November.  God, we thank You in advance for what you are going to do!

Sarah awesome in VP debate!

I watched it with friends earlier tonight, and Sarah Palin did a phenomonal job in the debate vs. Joe Biden.  Praise God!  Her presentation, performance, and presence was amazing.  God is with her!

Let's really pray (and fast if you can) for tonight's Vice President debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden.  This is extremely critical, let's pray and believe that Palin will hit a home run!  Read the Prayer Focus below, it includes Lou Engle's word and a dream that he had about the debate

Pray Focus - VP Debate Rod & Marion Hall Oct 1, 2008 Please pray with us for the next 24 hours concerning the VP debate and how the media will report it. At the bottom of this e-mail, I've included a recent dream that we are using to pray that Palin will hit a homerun in the debate. Here's a recent word from Lou: Now, everyone is beginning to realize that this election is not about a man's charisma or his nebulous notion of change. No. This election is a battle for family values and to the victor goes the soul of this nation. Governor Palin is more than just a brilliant choice for Vice President. She and her family stand as a sign and a wonder for life and for children. They are a living parable parading in blazing Technicolor before the eyes of the whole nation. This goes way beyond elections. This is about us healing our families, regaining moral responsibility, and exhibiting forgiveness. Palin boldly stood by her conviction that all life is sacred and chose to have her Down Syndrome child while leading her state. Senator Barack Obama, on the other hand, declared that the first thing he will do as President is pass the Freedom of Choice Act, which will remove every restriction from all abortion procedures, including many restrictions that most Americans agree with, By doing this, he will open up the doors to promote deviant sex education to kindergarteners and exclude even parents from their right to know of their underage daughter's potential abortion. When the pregnancy of her 17-year-old daughter became an insensitive liberal media circus, we were given a rare view into love and support as Governor Palin embraced her grandchild in her daughter's womb as a blessing. Again, on the other hand, Obama was once quoted as saying that if his two daughters made a "mistake" and became pregnant, he would not want them to be "punished" with babies. What a stark contrast of the value of human life!  Today: Dear Friends, We've recently seen in the media the words, "The Obama Effect."  It describes an almost supernatural, charismatic influence that affects the masses.  After Governor Palin's speech at the RNC, the news began to speak of "The Palin Effect."  An explosion of favor came upon the governor of Alaska, and the nation was swept up into it.  It is my conviction that this was nothing short of a supernatural promotion from heaven.  Like "Esther," which means "star," Palin became in a moment what the media described as "the GOP's rising star."  In the days of Deborah's war, "the stars fought from heaven," describing the angelic influence over the battle.  I believe that in this election, we are facing a spiritual battle that can only be won by the uplifting of hands in prayer.  In the days of Moses, Joshua won a battle on the ground while Moses, Aaron and Herr lifted their hands in prayer on a hill far above the natural field of battle.  As long as hands were lifted up, the battle went to Joshua, but when hands came down, spiritual influence shifted to the enemy. I exhort us, therefore, to lift up hands in prayer over these elections and in particular over Governor Palin who is being raged against from every side.  If God is for her and the church prays, the ideology of life for the unborn fueled by the Palin Effect (Esther) will prevail over the ideology of abortion fueled by the Obama Effect (Haman). Read the following dream from the man that has been the key prophetic voice in my life.  We must pray for the next two days continuously that the debate tomorrow night may be a staging ground for favor and the supernatural promotion of another beauty queen like Esther.  May the stars fight from heaven as we pray! Dream: I had a very short dream last night, yet it is an exhortation to pray for the vice presidential debate this Thursday evening. In the dream, I was reading Friday's paper (the day after the debate). There were two papers. One said, "Palin hits a home run," while the second said, "Palin strikes out."   As I was looking at those two papers, I found myself back at the debate and saw the darkness and powers surrounding the event. Great darkness had been assigned to the debate, and the church was not seeing it nor taking it soberly. I know that as much as preparation and so forth is necessary to come equipped for this debate, the victory of this debate will be determined by the intercessors. This is not so much about Sarah Palin being ready; this is about darkness and power influencing the nation. If we come to watch Thursday's debate, we lose; if we come into agreement with God and stand against this darkness, Palin is victorious. Lou Engle
