Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda's word about the election results

Read it at the link below!  Mahesh and Bonnie are leaders of All Nations church in Fort Mill, SC, and leaders of The Watch of the Lord ministries.  They have logged so many "prayer miles" with their church for the US government over the years that I believe they have the insight and authority to speak to the Body of Christ regarding the elections.

What's next for this blog? (how shall we pray?)

Now that the election is over, and that Sarah Palin will not be the Vice President of US for this upcoming term, what will become of this blog?  What is clear to me is that this blog is still relevant because it contains lots of significant information and records that will help all of us for the next 4 years.  This blog stands as a testament of truth and the efforts of the people of God in fighting for truth, righteousness, and life!  In the future, we can always check back to the facts recorded on this blog, as "wisdom is justified by all her children." (Luke 7:35)

Personally I believe that Palin and McCain was God's choice, but it was the church and American people's choice, to go with God's choice or not.  Sadly, many in the church voted for Obama because they prioritized economic prosperity (personal comfort, leisure) over the most important issue of our lifetime--abortion.  Our prayers should and will be focused more on Obama.  And we still need to pray for Palin too because there is the possibility that she would run for president in 2012.

In praying for Obama, we need to pray that he would have the fear of the Lord and honor God, and that his ideology of "pro-abortion" and "pro gay-marriage" (he opposed Prop 8 in CA) would be radically changed.  We also need to pray that he would stand with Israel, appoint pro-life judges to the Supreme Court, seek godly counsel in regards to foreign policy and the economy.  It may seem almost impossible for Obama to change in these radical manner, but these are the exact things we need to pray for, and believe in.  If God can humble and transform King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4 to a God-fearing leader, He can transform Obama as well.  Let's starting praying!  Jesus is the Lord over America, and Obama will give God all the glory!  No man can be the savior of a nation.  There is only one savior, one king.

Things may get difficult for the US in the next years.  Greater judgment of God may come to America, through terrorist attacks, economic crisis, the continual shedding of innocent blood through abortion, etc.  I do not desire to prophesy gloom and doom, but this nation will reap what she has sown.  The children of God need not to be afraid, but take heart and be courageous.  The kingdom of God is not deterred by any political, external event.  God's kingdom will advance regardless, because revival and harvest is near.  Let us not be discouraged, but press on in prayer and LIFE!

Romans 8:28--And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

God will preserve, protect, and prosper His people, no matter what happens.  The favor of the Lord will rest upon His children even in times of crisis.  Let us all seek to enter in His rest.  We fight from victory, we fight from the position of rest (Heb 4).

Lastly, I thank God for raising up Sarah Palin and bringing her onto the political scene in America.  She is godly woman, and a force to be reckoned with!  I know that God has great things in store for Sarah in the near future, and I will continue be praying for her.  Palin and her family faced relentless attacks from the liberals through out this campaign, yet she stood strong and pressed onward in the midst of all the vicious oppositions.  I have tremendous respect for her, for her faith, values, beliefs, character, wisdom, executive leadership, and her political skills as well.  I honor her and bless her in Jesus name!  Sarah Palin, I thank God for you.  Hope to see you in the White House in years to come!

The Cause USA: election prayer report!

I was a part of The Cause during my years in Charlotte, NC.  Read their report below!

Now is the time to walk on waves like Peter as we pray for these elections! We must obey every prompting of the Lord instructing us how to pray, and every command He gives, even if it seems as crazy as walking on water. We must keep our eyes on Jesus - not on the polls or the pundits, but on the risen Jesus who vanquished every principality & power on the cross!

Obeying the directions of the Lord has led us as a ministry to DC on several trips this month. We've participated in 24/7 prayer lifting up the cross of Christ on the Capitol grounds, seiged with LIFE tape at the Supreme Court, interceded at JHOP DC, and waged war in the heavenlies at Lafayette Park next door to the White House. We're going for one last prayer strike this weekend before the election.

Obeying the directions of the Lord has meant praying out of the revelation He's showed us:
  • Fasting as He directs us

  • Praying for the women voters of America to rise up as Deborah, and as Jael, who defeated the enemy with a tent peg - Judges 4

  • Believing for the women in the families of each of the candidates to have a revelation from God, as Pilot's wife did - Matthew 27:19

  • Declaring Jesus victorious over all principalities & powers, triumphing over them at the cross

  • Rebuking fear of economic uncertainty, as well as spirits of anarchy, racism, death, and occultic influence, in Jesus' name

  • Praying Psalm 91 protection over each candidate & his or her family

  • Prophesying Psalm 103 over the nation, that youth would be renewed like the eagle's, and for removal of transgression as far as the east is from the west

  • Proclaiming that Sarah Palin would fulfill her destiny in God's timing, and have a George Washington anointing of protection, statesmanship, and leadership

  • Asking for the cry for mercy to be louder than the cry for change

  • Proclaiming that strategy from heaven will be given to intercessors, as Joshua received strategy to defeat Jericho

How is God directing you to pray? Obey his promptings! If He calls you to pray with anyone, anywhere, in any specific way, obey Him with all your heart!

Dutch Sheets' Call to pray for the Supreme Court

Read this exhortation below by national prayer leader Dutch Sheets.

The Stakes Couldn’t be Higher
October 27, 2008
With the upcoming elections 8 days away, satan has worked hard to deflect attention off of the real issue.  This has been relatively easy through the economic meltdown and an unpopular war.  Many Americans, including Christians, will vote based on these two issues.  While these things are obviously important, they pale in light of the real issue—the Supreme Court.
The cover story of USA Today, on Thursday of last week, spelled this out quite clearly. It stated that the real legacy of the next president won’t be the economy or the war, but the Supreme Court.  The next president of the United States will appoint at least 2, and maybe 3, Justices in his first term.  If he serves 2 terms, it could be 5 Justices—there are 5 of the 9 on the Court 70 years old or older!  Since the trend is to appoint younger and younger Justices, the next president will most likely shape the court for the next 30-40 years! This means we are not voting only for a president, we are voting for the Court we want for the next generation! The vote we cast on November 4th will do more to shape the culture we give our children and grandchildren than any other vote of our lifetime! Perhaps some succinct bullet points will help us see this clearly:
  • Without question, no institution, organization, or agency has shaped the current culture of America in the last 50 years more than the Supreme Court.  You don’t need millions of people, the majority in Congress, or the President to shape the culture of America.  You only need 5 people—the majority of the Supreme Court.  Five people can kill 50 million babies (the number aborted since Roe vs. Wade), legalize homosexual marriage, remove parental rights, put God out of schools and government, rob from us our godly heritage, etc.
  • It is now split—sometimes 5-4 toward life, family, morality, our godly heritage, the intent of our forefathers when they wrote the Constitution; sometimes 5-4 toward death, immorality, legislating their beliefs from the bench (though not their constitutional role or right, this is easy—they simply say the Constitution is a fluid, living document and therefore must be changed to accommodate the times), removing God from our nation, etc.
  • 2-3 Justices will retire over the next 4 years, their replacements chosen by the next president; possibly a couple more will step down 5 to 8 years from now, making it 5 potential Justices that could be appointed by the next president if he serves 2 terms. This will determine how the Court rules for a generation.
  • The first two Justices to go will almost certainly be Stevens who is 88 years old and Ginsberg who is 75 and ill.  They are the two most liberal and are no doubt waiting to retire, hoping for a president that will replace them with 2 more liberals.  These two replacements alone, if they are good, conservative judges could shift the Court toward righteousness for many years.
  • Conclusion: our vote this November 4th will be not for a president, not for the economy, not for ending our involvement in Iraq.  Our vote will be for what we want America to look like 40 years from now!
The ramifications of this are staggering!  We are no doubt reaping great judgment now in America—diseases, family breakdowns, violence, a death culture, destructive weather, and much more—because of abortion alone…not to mention expelling God and His laws from our schools and government.  I don’t know that we can survive another 40 years of this without completely losing our godly heritage and destiny.  The economy will recover and the war will end no matter who is elected president—but this is not the case with the Court and the soul of this nation.
If you don’t know where the candidates stand on the Court and the kind of Justices they would appoint, read the USA Today article.  It makes their positions very clear.  Share this information with every friend and acquaintance you have.  And finally, pray like never before for God’s will to be done in this election. We CAN win this war and we MUST NOT lose this war.  Pick up your word, go to war and let’s make history together. Here are some practical suggestions to consider:
    1. Fast (a meal a day; a day this week; a Daniel fast; 3 days; TV; etc.) and spend the time praying.
    2. Agree in prayer with someone everyday for God’s will to be done.
    3. Hold nightly prayer meetings
    4. Take time in every gathering to pray. (Take 15 minutes in every service to pray for the elections. Turn an entire service to harp and bowl style intercession—worship and prayer combined.)
    5. Join 2 or more friends on a conference call and pray for 15, 20, or 30 minutes.
    6. Pray on the way to work (and on the way home).
    7. Pray before you go to sleep.
    8. Pray before church services.
    9. Ask God to give you His strategy—He will!

For God and Our Great Nation,
Dutch Sheets

Dutch Sheets' Call to the church to pray for the elections!

Dear friends,
As you know, there has been a urgent call to prayer throughout the Body of Christ this week to pray and fast for the upcoming elections.  Below is national prayer leader Dutch Sheets' email calling the church to pray.  Some of you may have already gotten this, but please read it again and pass it on to friends.

Below is a letter from Dutch Sheets... let's take heed to this urgent request!!

Due to IRS rules, this letter is from me personally and is not from any of the ministries I am associated with. (Also because of IRS rules, I cannot send it to my ministry database and therefore need your help in getting it out.) Do with it as you see fit, but my desire is that you forward it to as many praying friends as possible. Dutch

October 20, 2008
Dear Praying Friend,
In 2000, I wrote the 2nd most important letter of my life—a call to prayer for the elections of that year. I'm now writing what may be my most important letter. I knew the importance of those elections in 2000 was beyond any in my life up to that point and that the spiritual warfare surrounding them would be unlike anything any of us had ever seen. That letter was read by millions of people and I believe millions of them responded by praying. I also believe the prayers turned the tide.
You may question whether President Bush was the right choice;
obviously, he has made some blunders in his tenure as president. But two of his decisions alone left no doubt he was God's choice: Roberts and Alito.

These two Supreme Court Justices have proven critical in the process of breaking the hold of humanism, death and anti-God agendas that have ruled the Court for 50 years. I assure you that more devastation—the shedding of innocent blood, immorality, decay of the family and an erosion of our godly heritage—has flowed into our nation through that institution than any other door in America. Many times more. The poison allowed into America through their decisions is beyond any of our abilities to articulate.

The reality in America is that you don't need to control Congress or
the White House to rule the nation. You only need 5 people – 5 out of 9 on the Supreme Court. And for decades those who disagree with just about everything you and I stand for have been in control!
In Bush's two terms, the process of turning this around began with
the appointments of Roberts and Alito. Now, we win some cases 5-4 and lose some 4-5. (We barely outlawed partial birth abortion. The vote of one judge saved thousands of babies from this horror.) We need one more conservative Justice for a consistent majority, then more to build a strong majority.

In Obama's own words, "the next president will appoint at least one, perhaps two or more Supreme Court Justices." He's right. Almost certainly two or more older, liberal Justices are waiting until after the elections to retire, in hopes of Obama winning and appointing more liberals to replace them. And he certainly would. He voted against the confirmation of Roberts and Alito. So did Biden. And Biden led the fight against Justice Thomas several years back, another of the 4 solid conservatives. Make no mistake about it, the two of them do have a litmus test for Supreme Court Justices, and a major part of that test is Roe vs. Wade. McCain and Palin, on the other hand, both have very strong pro-life positions. This alone makes the choice for President simple. To vote for the 2nd and 3rd most liberal senators (Obama and Biden), both of whom are firmly and blatantly proabortion, would be unconscionable. Obama has actually said that if he wins, he would like his first action as president to be the signing of the Freedom of Choice Act, which would eliminate every other law against any aspect of abortion (partial birth abortion, parental notification, etc., etc.).

And with a democratic majority in the House and Senate, pretty much any legislation he and Biden want to pass will be a slam-dunk. There are many other unrighteous positions they hold but this position alone makes the choice easy. If they win this election, it will set America back decades in the cause of life and the restoration we seek.

Just as many of you do, I too, want to see a first black President, but not Senator Obama. To allow that noble and godly desire, the economy or one's position on the war to trump this issue of life and death for the innocent unborn is simply wrong. The scriptures teach that if we choose first to exalt righteousness and turn from evil, God promises to heal our land (see Proverbs 14:34; 2 Chronicles 7:14). It is righteousness that exalts a nation, not wealth, prosperity or armies. If we will finish the process of removing the curses of death and anti-God laws off of America by electing a president that will continue to shift the Court, God will grace us with breakthrough in other areas such as the economy, the war against terrorism, etc. My faith is not in a person, and certainly not a political party, for the healing of America, but I know God's word and His ways well enough to know that our decisions do move Him to action or inaction.

Now to the heart of my reason for writing this letter (I realize I am
"preaching to the choir"—most of you who know or listen to me are
conservative enough to vote for McCain and Palin.) I have not written any appeals for prayer concerning this election because:
1) others have, and
2) I believe our movement has matured to the point that the prayer base of the Church is already praying.

But I now feel the need to raise my voice. I am appealing to you to pray for these elections the next two weeks like you've never prayed for any in the past. Faithfully. Passionately. Boldly. Ask God for His mercy and grace.
We deserve His judgment for removing His influence and authority from our government, schools, homes and businesses; for the killing of 50 million babies; for leading the world in the consumption and exporting of pornography; for passing laws to reject His; etc. But mercy triumphs over judgment and in His wrath He remembers mercy. In 2000 we actually lost the popular vote and won the election—talk about grace! Please pray for this grace to be released again.

But I am also asking you for something more than normal prayer. For those of you who understand spiritual warfare, I am asking you to also include this aspect of prayer. There is no doubt that we have entered a Daniel 10 moment in time: "Then he said to me, 'Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, I have come in response to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia'" (Daniel 10: 12-13 NAS). The spiritual warfare in this election is incredibly fierce, and just as it was in Daniel's day, is all about the restoration of a nation. And also like Daniel, we must keep praying until we win the battle in the heavens.

In August of this year I predicted that September would mark a shift in momentum for these elections. This happened with the appointment of Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential nominee (who is a true Esther in our generation), but when the economy began its meltdown and the media ramped up their unprecedented attacks on Palin, that momentum wasn't sustained. But we can see it turn again if we approach this battle as the spiritual warfare it truly is and bind the evil forces involved (see Matthew 16:18-19). The reality is that this election can be the breakthrough we need to fully shift the Court (and ultimately our nation) or it will be an immeasurable setback that could take many years to reverse—if ever.

Please understand what I am saying: if we engage in this battle and do what I am asking—in mass—we will win; if we do not, we will lose. I, for one, don't intend to allow the latter. I am in Washington, D.C. now (October 20-22) with Lou Engle and a team of prayer leaders from around the nation to war for this election. Join us! Lose some sleep, miss some meals— pray! Pray like never before for these elections. And as you do, involve yourself not only in petitioning prayer but also in spiritual warfare. Use your God-given authority over the plans and strategies of satan's kingdom. Bind all witchcraft that is working to control the outcome, including occultic powers that are suppressing truth. Release Christ's Kingdom rule in every way the Holy Spirit leads you.

Don't be deceived and don't lose hope (if you have to, turn off the TV.) It is not too late to turn these elections. God is plenty powerful enough to do so. The real question is will we rise to the level of prayer and spiritual warfare necessary to release that power. And remember, we don't need a majority of Christians who are willing and able to do this—only a praying remnant. We can do it!
`
Here are some practical suggestions to consider:
1) Fast (a meal a day; a day a week; a Daniel fast; 3 days; 10 days; TV; etc.) and spend the time praying.
2) Agree in prayer with someone everyday for God's will to be done.
3) Form/participate in prayer groups regularly. Churches could pray everyday.
4) Take time in every gathering to pray. (Take 15 minutes in every
service to pray for the elections. Turn an entire service to harp and bowl style intercession—worship and prayer combined.)
5) Join 2 or more on a conference call and pray for 15, 20, or 30 minutes.
6) Pray on the way to work (and on the way home).
7) Pray before you go to sleep.
8) Pray before church services.
9) Ask God to give you His strategy—He will!
In His grip,
Dutch Sheets

Ohio is key to this election: Pray! Pray! Pray!

I just read this on the Elijah List.   Please read and start mobilizing prayer!
Lori Willmann: "Wake Up Call to Ohio!
A swing state in the elections"
Dear Watchman and Reformers,
We want to send this out to you today as we are in the midst of the Days of Awe to sound the trumpet and the WAKE UP CALL to OHIO! This is an "ALL HANDS ON DECK" call to the WALL of INTERCESSION as perhaps never before to STAND and FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE OF THIS NATION!
Once again, Ohio is at the center of the National Presidential Elections. Both presidential candidates have targeted Ohio as a "must win" state. Historically, no Republican presidential candidate has ever won the national election without winning Ohio. Knowing this, Ohio's Secretary of State deliberately changed the rules of the election process in ways that have greatly compromised the integrity of the voting process in Ohio. We may never know how many fraudulent votes will be counted, as there is no way to separate these votes from valid absentee ballots until after the election has occurred!
BUT GOD! In the midst of this chaos and confusion, we received a video clip that was posted on the website of Eagles Wings Ministries, during their Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) gathering. The prophetic word released is from Julie Meyer, a nationally known and respected prophet. In her word, God is saying that Ohio holds the KEY to tipping the scales of this election - specifically, THE INTERCESSORS! Please view this powerful video clip (click here to view. Note: you may need QuickTime to view this; follow the prompts to download it before viewing).
In addition to this, I received two emails from a separate source that included a postscript on this word from Julie Meyer:
"Also be praying for Ohio again. I had an encounter with the Lord where I heard a song coming out of Heaven and it was:
If I can just get to Ohio
If I can just get to Ohio.
Ohio will be given the golden key
To tip the scales of justice for the babies.
Ohio will be given the golden key
to tip the scales of justice for the babies.
Pray...for...Ohio..."
And another word two days later:
"I was also in North Carolina last week and I spent the evening with Bob and Bonnie Jones. Bob actually told me the identical word that I had just prophesied at Roberts Stearns' conference:
"This is about the VP.
This election, we are not electing a President.
We are electing a Vice President.
All eyes will be on Ohio
And intercession is the key that will tip the scales."
But Bob said that he thought people are not taking this seriously and people were not praying right now. So we need to get the word out to "pray, pray, pray."
The elections have not been decided because God is giving us the opportunity to intercede and tip the scales for righteousness."
In response to this trumpet blast to WAKE UP OHIO, we are calling for:
• ALL to FAST and PRAY throughout this month until the week following the elections! SET UP WATCHES of the LORD, ESPECIALLY THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. PASTORS - SET UP 24/7 PRAYER IN YOUR CHURCHES!
• ENCOURAGE REGISTERED VOTERS TO VOTE EARLY BY FILLING OUT ABSENTEE VOTER BALLOTS AT THEIR LOCAL COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS.
They can avoid long lines at the precincts on Election Day, make sure they voted, and they can do it when it is a convenient time for them. This will also free them up to help on Election Day and spend time in intercession throughout the day. Call and/or email everyone on your contact list to get out and vote, and to vote righteously!
• We have posted the 40-Day Prayer Directive from the National Governmental Prayer Alliance on the Ohio Governmental Prayer Alliance website. The prayer goes through November 3rd, and there is still time to jump in and pray (click here to view).
• We will be holding a special solemn assembly in Chillicothe, Ohio - this Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 7pm. This is for Ohio and for those in other states who feel led to join in with Ohio to raise up a standard and a cry for righteousness, justice and mercy! Join Dutch Sheets, Tim Sheets, Robert Henderson and other state and national leaders as we gather together to cry out for mercy, justice and righteousness to be done in the upcoming elections! We will be hosted byOpen Door Ministries, located at: 3130 S. Bridge St. in Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. For more information visit www.ohgpa.org.
This is a crucial time as we approach the upcoming election, the state of our economy, and so much more. The prophetic words being spoken over Ohio breathe a fresh mandate for us to come together on this day, fasting, and taking seriously the role of Ohio regarding all that is going on in our world.
Chillicothe was the first capital city of Ohio. It is important that we go back to the place of our historical roots as a state to cry out to God for His Mercy to cover us as we prepare Ohio for the upcoming elections on November 4.
We have truly entered a pivotal time, not only our state, but in our nation. Now, more than ever, we believe it is critical that we gather together corporately to raise our voices in unity for God's will and rule to be established and fully functioning in Ohio and the nation.
We need focused and strategic intercession to go forth without ceasing, not only in the governmental realm, but in all the mountains of our society!
We look forward to having you join us for this crucial Solemn Assembly in Chillicothe. Also, there are still some spots open for the Convergence '08 Conference in New York City, which will be held on October 30-November 1. It will be an opportune moment in time for us to gather in unity and oneness of heart to seek the Lord's face during this time in our nation's history.
Standing and warring for the soul of our nation,

Timely Word from "The Watch"

This prayer point is from "The Watch of the Lord," Mahesh & Bonnie Chavda's ministry in Fort Mill, South Carolina!

Thank God for the freedoms we enjoy today in America. The foundation of our democracy is honest elections so that people can have more trust in those chosen for leadership. Recent revelations have shown that there has been much fraud committed, and some estimate that hundreds of thousands of false voter registrations in several states that will help decide which way the elections turn. Bind fraud and pray that all fraudulent registrations will be identified. Pray for the integrity of the upcoming U.S. elections. Cry out to God for His choice. God give us leaders such that it would be to your glory to give us the victory through them.
Matt. 16:19, 'And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven”; Ps. 37:28; Ps. 2.

Blessed Is the Nation Whose God Is The Lord: Sylvia Gunter prayer devotional

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance.
Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.
Psalm 33:12, 144:15.

When we sing "God Bless America," we are singing a blessing on this country. Can we ask God to bless this nation in its present state of heart and soul? Can we ask God to bless us while we murder unborn babies, make merchandise of alcohol, drugs, and pornography, idolize over-paid sports heroes, and totter dangerously close to the edge of violence and anarchy?

We can pray for us to be a nation that is blessable by God. Pray that God will do what only He can do: change the hearts of kings (decision-makers in all areas of our economy and government) to follow after Him and His word. Let's pray this especially for the four who are running for the office of president and vice-president, because two of the four will surely be our leaders for at least four years, regardless of whether you vote red or blue. Let's pray this for all those in authority: Cabinet members, Senators and Congressmen, Wall Street, bank Presidents, oil company presidents, local officials, and candidates for office. We need a revolution of blessedness in those in authority.

Pray these "blessed" descriptions of godly leaders.

Pray for McCain in debate Wednesday!

Let's lift up John McCain in our prayers this week!  Pray that God will give him wisdom on what to say and how to answer the questions.  Pray that he would connect with the heart of God and be plugged into Him, and be His mouthpiece!

Prayer Devotional from Sylvia Gunter

I just received this e-devotional from Sylvia Gunter this morning.  What a timely word!  Read below.  God can shift this election towards righteousness just as He did in India, when the church prayed!

Praying For God
To Call Out Intercessors For Our Nation

                        Praying for the Upcoming Election

Patrick Joshua is the Director of the National Prayer Network and a father figure to the prayer movement in India. Because of a special burden for our nation, he visited the United States twice in recent months. Patrick believes the U.S. is at a very critical time in history, the impact of which will be felt around the world.

During his visits, Patrick told the story of God's intervention in India in 2004, in response to the fervent, united prayers of His people. At that time, political forces had mobilized with the intention of turning their nation in a direction that would make it almost impossible for Christians to share or practice their faith. Those forces had the momentum and the numbers as the Christian population in India is a minority, by some estimates representing only 6% of the 1.1 billion people in the nation.

The situation was desperate. Many thought it was impossible. So they turned to the God of the impossible and began to pray. In cities and states across their nation, a movement of united, fervent prayer arose, but with a unique focus. They weren't praying for particular candidates or political parties. Instead they were praying for the person of righteousness, the person of God's choosing, to be elected in every elected office.

Right up until the day of the election every poll and pundit predicted the election would be a landslide for those who were opposed to the gospel. When the votes were counted, however, the results revealed a different story. In district after district those candidates and political allies who opposed the gospel had been soundly defeated. At a national level they were out of power. The press and the pundits were stunned. No one saw it coming.

So what happened? It seems God heard the cries of His people and touched the hearts of the voters as they went into the voting booths. Some believe a corporate conviction came upon the people and they voted for the person of righteous, the person of God's choosing. This was seen most dramatically in the states and regions where prayer was the most concentrated and fervent. In one of those states, laws that restricted the advance of the gospel were immediately repealed.

This is a very hopeful report about what God did in the elections in India. While our situation is different, we are at a critical crossroad.  He can do this in our nation too if we will PRAY!

For the next three weeks we will be praying for righteous men to rule righteously in our nation, starting with this prayer for God to wake up his people to pray. I bless you to let God to wake up the intercessor
in you.

Hear God's Word. I have posted watchmen on Your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, Give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7

Our Father, our Lord, bless intercessors who have stood as watchmen at their posts unseen and unsung in the hidden work of prayer. You appointed and anointed them by Your Spirit of grace and supplication for the authority they have wielded in standing in the gap between Your holy hand and the judgment that the sins of our nation deserve. Strengthen the hands of these intercessors with patient endurance and with Aarons and Hurs to come alongside (Exo. 17:10- 13).

Release and reappoint those who have been discouraged, distracted, or disillusioned by inordinate attacks on their body, soul, or spirit, or on their families or finances. Come, our Helper Holy Spirit, to the praying ones who have been robbed and beaten up. Pour the oil of Your Spirit on these wounded soldiers, take them up, and restore them to wholeness and health and to their gifting and calling in intercession.

Awake new intercessors in Your church that has been disinterested and lazy. Let us receive new mantles of intercession and hear Your appointment to our posts in prayer. By the Spirit of Christ Jesus, who ever lives to intercede, impregnate the hearts of every believer with the Spirit of prayer as simple obedience to the commands of God's Word to pray without ceasing and to pray for those in authority. Appoint new intercessors and birth in them a holy desperation for prayer until we see You answer and You show us great and mighty things we have never seen.

Raise up intercessors who will ...

Respond to Your call in humility and holiness.
Respond to Your call to pray in the fear of the Lord.
Pray with grateful hearts of thanksgiving with their eyes on You.
Petition the God of the Impossible.
Pray with You, not just to You, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.
Ask our Father, our King, to have mercy and redeem and show us Your glory in the sight of all nations.
Let this be a trumpet call, as Nehemiah said, "The work is extensive and spread out. Whenever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us. Remember the Lord who is great and awesome" (Neh: 4:17,20).
Holy Spirit, touch Your church.
            Turn our hearts to You.
Stir our hearts to pray as never before.
Show us Your glory.
